Artykuł jest recenzją książki autorstwa P. Majera i A. Urbanka pt.  „Bezpieczeństwo społeczne.  Ewolucja, instytucje, zagrożenia”. Recenzent przedstawia strukturę książki oraz krótko omawia poszczególne jej rozdziały, pokazując jej zalety oraz wady. Książka ma charakter podręcznika.
